The process is the same in every city we cover. You contact us with your location and a short description of your symptoms. We confirm the visit and give you a realistic arrival window. On arrival, the doctor or nurse takes your vitals — blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and often oxygen level — before anything is set up. If a drip is the right call, a fine cannula goes into a vein in your arm or hand, the bag is hung, and the flow rate is adjusted for your condition. The Types of Drips We Offer

Every drip starts from the same base: an isotonic fluid, normal saline or Ringer's lactate, the same solutions used in hospitals worldwide. What differs is what's added and why.

• Hydration drips — plain saline and electrolytes for dehydration from any cause: heat, illness, vomiting, or diarrhoea that oral rehydration salts aren't keeping up with. This is the most common reason people book us.
• Hangover drips — saline and electrolytes, usually with added vitamins such as B-complex and vitamin C. Anti-nausea medication or pain relief can be added when the doctor judges it appropriate. It's a recovery treatment, not a licence to repeat the night — it won't protect your liver, and no clinician should tell you otherwise.
• Vitamin and recovery-style drips — B-complex, vitamin C, magnesium and similar blended into a saline base, for run-down fatigue, jet lag, or simply wanting to feel sharper before a big day. These correct fluid and electrolyte deficits reliably and deliver vitamins faster than your gut can, but they don't cleanse or detox anything — your liver and kidneys already handle that.

Safety — Licensed Doctors and When an IV Isn't the Answer

Every drip we send out is administered by a doctor or nurse licensed to practise in Vietnam. Fluid bags are factory-sealed; needles, cannulas and tubing are single-use and opened in front of you; your vitals are checked before the line goes in and monitored for the whole session. Used equipment and sharps leave with the clinician — nothing stays behind.

Just as important is what a competent clinician won't do. An IV is not the right answer for every unwell traveller. For mild dehydration, oral rehydration salts work perfectly well, carry no needle and no cost, and that's what we'll recommend if that's genuinely all you need. Some symptoms point away from a drip entirely — persistent high fever, severe abdominal pain, breathlessness, confusion, signs pointing toward dengue, or heat stroke rather than heat exhaustion — and in those cases the doctor tells you plainly and helps arrange hospital care instead of setting up a line that can't fix the underlying problem.

Insurance and Paperwork

Every IV visit ends with an English-language medical report and an itemised receipt, listing the assessment, what was given, and the cost of each item. These are the documents travel insurers ask to see, and they're accepted by providers including Allianz, AXA, Bupa and Cigna.

Here's the part worth saying plainly: travel insurance generally does not cover hangover treatment. Nearly all policies exclude claims arising from alcohol consumption, so plan on a hangover drip being an out-of-pocket cost. If your dehydration genuinely stems from something else — food poisoning, heat exhaustion, a stomach bug, or another documented illness — that's a different diagnosis and may be claimable, and our paperwork will reflect what's actually wrong with you. We won't misstate a diagnosis to help a claim; the final decision always belongs to your insurer, not to us. None of these is what a home IV visit is for. An IV drip treats dehydration and helps you recover once the underlying problem has been identified and is safe to manage outside a hospital — it is not a substitute for emergency care.
