The other common pattern is timing around a Phong Nha trip. Dong Hoi is the main gateway to Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, about 45 km and 45 to 60 minutes away by road, and the large majority of visitors pass through here on the way in or out. At that point, a pharmacy sachet isn't the answer, you need someone to actually examine you and rule out something more serious than a routine stomach bug.
